How are giant props made? It depends on the piece, but most combine a structural frame in timber or steel with sculpted, machined or fabricated surfaces, finished with scenic paint, vinyl or specialist coatings. We choose the build method around how the prop will be used, moved and stored.
How big can you go? Larger than you would think. The practical limits are usually transport, access and the site itself rather than the build, which is why we factor those in from the design stage. If a prop needs to break down into sections to reach its location, we design it that way from the start.
Can a giant prop tour or be reused? Yes. Many of our builds are designed to pack down, travel and reassemble across a season, and we can store them between bookings so they are ready to go again rather than rebuilt from scratch.
Do you handle delivery, installation and safety? We do. Transport, on-site installation, takedown, RAMS and structural sign-off for larger builds are all part of the service, so you are not left coordinating it yourself.
How long does it take? Anywhere from a few weeks to a longer lead time for the most complex builds. We are set up for fast-turnaround work when a campaign demands it, so it is always worth asking.
