NBC Universal Exhibition Stand

Scene2’s Solution

Design & Production

Working directly with NBC Universal, Scene2 developed the creative design and production for a 240-square-metre exhibition stand at Brand Licensing Expo.

The stand was designed to take guests on a curated journey through some of the most recognisable intellectual properties within the Universal portfolio. Through a combination of branded environments, colour-coded zones and integrated meeting spaces, the stand successfully balanced visitor engagement with functionality.

A modular design approach formed the foundation of the project, creating a flexible exhibition environment that could be adapted and reused for future events.

Workshop & Production

Our team produced a series of bespoke modular scenic components designed to function as a reusable exhibition system.

Distinct colour-coded zones helped define individual brand areas while maintaining a cohesive overall visitor experience. Integrated meeting spaces were incorporated throughout the stand, providing dedicated environments for conversations with licensing partners, retailers and industry stakeholders.

The strategy focused on durability, flexibility and ease of reuse, ensuring the stand could continue to deliver value across future exhibitions.

Installation & Delivery

Scene2 managed the delivery and installation of the stand at ExCeL London, coordinating all scenic, structural and branded elements to ensure a seamless build programme.

The completed environment provided NBC Universal with a premium exhibition presence that successfully combined brand storytelling, visitor engagement and commercial meeting facilities within a highly functional and visually impactful space.

Project Overview

Brand Licensing Expo is one of the world’s leading events for the licensing industry, bringing together global entertainment brands, retailers, manufacturers and licensing professionals. For the exhibition at ExCeL London, NBC Universal required a stand capable of showcasing the breadth of its intellectual property portfolio while supporting meaningful conversations with existing and prospective partners.

Scene2 was appointed to provide creative design and production services, delivering a 240-square-metre exhibition environment that guided visitors through key brands within the Universal portfolio. The stand combined immersive brand presentation with practical meeting facilities, creating a welcoming space for both engagement and business development.

A key objective of the project was to create a solution that could extend beyond a single exhibition. Rather than producing a bespoke stand for one event, Scene2 developed a modular system comprising interchangeable scenic elements, branded zones and integrated meeting spaces. This approach provided NBC Universal with a flexible kit of parts that could be reconfigured and reused year after year.

The result was a visually impactful exhibition stand that successfully represented the scale and diversity of the Universal portfolio while delivering long-term value through a sustainable and adaptable design strategy.

Challenges We Overcame

Showcasing Multiple Brands

The stand needed to represent a diverse range of globally recognised intellectual properties while maintaining a cohesive overall identity. Careful zoning and visitor flow planning ensured each brand could be showcased effectively without compromising the overall experience.

Designing for Reuse

A major project objective was creating a stand that could be utilised beyond a single event. The modular design strategy required careful consideration of fabrication methods, storage requirements and future adaptability.

Balancing Engagement and Business Functionality

The environment needed to support both visitor interaction and commercial discussions. Integrating dedicated meeting areas within a highly branded exhibition space required thoughtful spatial planning and design coordination.

Results

The completed stand delivered a premium exhibition presence for NBC Universal at Brand Licensing Expo 2023, providing visitors with a clear journey through the company’s extensive portfolio of intellectual properties.

The modular design approach created a reusable exhibition system that can continue to be adapted for future events, extending the value of the investment while supporting a more sustainable approach to exhibition design and production.

We were awarded GOLD for the Better Stands Pre-Event design submission for Universal Studios Limited at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) in London, for our excellence in sustainability.

The project demonstrates Scene2’s ability to deliver high-quality exhibition environments that combine creative design, fabrication expertise and practical commercial functionality.
