Scene2’s Solution
Design & Production
Working closely with Rebecca Brower and the wider project team, Scene2 realise the creative vision through the production of bespoke scenic environments and supporting structures.
Each scenic element was carefully detailed to capture the familiar atmosphere and charm associated with Paddington’s world while supporting the interactive nature of the experience.
Workshop & Fabrication
The project showcased a broad range of Scene2’s in-house fabrication capabilities, including bespoke metalwork; precision carpentry; scenic painting and finishing and custom scenic construction.
By combining multiple disciplines within our workshop, we were able to deliver a cohesive and high-quality build across the various themed environments.
Installation & Delivery
Scene2 managed the installation of the scenic elements on site, ensuring each environment was delivered safely, accurately and in line with the project’s programme requirements.
Careful coordination during installation helped create a seamless visitor journey through the attraction’s multiple interactive spaces.
Project Overview
Located in the heart of London’s Southbank, The Paddington Bear™ Experience is a multi-room immersive attraction that invites visitors into the beloved world of Paddington and the Brown family. Designed to appeal to audiences of all ages, the experience takes guests on an interactive adventure through a series of recognisable locations inspired by the much-loved stories.
Throughout the journey, visitors become active participants in the narrative, helping Paddington and the Brown family prepare for a “Marmalade Day” through a variety of games, challenges and interactive moments. The experience combines storytelling, scenic environments and audience participation to create a memorable family attraction that brings the iconic character to life.
Scene2 collaborated with designer Rebecca Brower to transform the creative vision into a fully realised physical environment. Drawing on our extensive fabrication and installation expertise, we produced a series of bespoke scenic elements that recreated the warmth, charm and recognisable character of Paddington’s world.
From detailed scenic finishes to custom-built structures, every aspect of the project was carefully crafted to support the storytelling and provide guests with an engaging and immersive experience from beginning to end.
Challenges We Overcame
Bringing an Iconic World to Life
Paddington is one of Britain’s most recognisable and beloved characters, meaning the environments needed to meet audience expectations while remaining faithful to the established world of the films.
Creating a Durable Visitor Experience
As a high-footfall family attraction, the scenic elements needed to be both visually engaging and robust enough to withstand continuous public interaction while maintaining their quality over time.
Delivering Across Multiple Environments
The experience spans several themed spaces, each requiring its own identity while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the visitor journey.
Results
The Paddington Bear™ Experience successfully transports audiences into the world of one of Britain’s most treasured literary characters, creating an engaging and memorable adventure for families and fans alike.
Through a combination of expert fabrication, detailed scenic finishing and professional installation, Scene2 helped deliver an immersive attraction that captures the spirit of the Paddington stories while providing a high-quality visitor experience in the heart of London.
The project demonstrates Scene2’s ability to translate well-known intellectual properties into engaging physical environments that delight audiences and support immersive storytelling.
