Buster the Boxer - In-Store VR Experience Set

The Brief

Scene2 worked with PrettyGreen to design and build an in-store Christmas experience which brought to life the “Buster the Boxer” TV advert.  With Photo opportunity and VR experience sets installed across the UK in one night, visitors could experience the advert first hand in their local John Lewis flagship store.   John Lewis Oxford Street offered the opportunity to climb inside the trampoline and interact with the characters via VR whilst the smaller stores had photo opportunities in “Buster’s Garden”, both creating social media content which boasted large sharing figures.

Our Solution

Scene2 built and installed an interactive garden set using a 10ft trampoline as the central feature. Visitors could put on a VR headset, move around and interact with the animals and share their experience on social media. Others could try out sculpted, 3D printed fox and badger ‘masks’ which held Oculus Rift headsets. Each store had a “Buster’s Garden” photo opportunity set where visitors could step onto the astroturf and amongst the printed characters and share their photo on social media. With all 12 John Lewis flagship stores needing to be installed in one night, Scene2 project management worked their logistical magic to make that happen.
